Dear Jeny,

Great to see your beautiful face! Tennessee? Do tell how you found your way there? Have a dear friend in Germantown. Going to Nepal and Tibet in September. Back to freelancing and loving it. Lots on my plate right now cuz we'll be gone for a month. So...two items I'd like to add to the pot are Sedona and living lightly on the land! Would love to catch up some time. Love, Mei Wei

Excellent post. Focus is key and extending the Starbucks name to music is I suppose an attempt to leverage the Starbucks "lifestyle" and apply it to music... music you would enjoy over conversation, sipping java. However, in this case, they have to be careful not to dilute the brand's meaning. I agree - with Hear Music, they have already established a great track record of artists, are almost exclusively associated with Starbucks - it seems like the best avenue is to keep releasing artists under the label and continue to evolve the brand. It will also allow Hear Music to venture into more niche music opportunities that may arise, where the Starbucks brand is inappropriate.
